Herdade de Água d'Alte is a farm located in the Alentejoone of the most ecologically protected regions of Portugal and the most promising one for the tourists who are in search of peace and quietness, fresh air, and warm people.

The Alentejo regional area in Portugal is in fact (together with the Azores Islands) the most pure and environmental preserved regions of Portugal. It's the country zone, the hunting and the wildest area. And its only 1h30m away from Lisbon, served by the very best highways and roadways. In the Alentejo, you may find the finest, honest and pure minded people. You can find castles, Paleolitic "antas" and old roman bridges. You can also visit old villages and the city of Évora that is a world heritage protected city by UNesco. One of the most important things for a healthy living is to take a couple of weeks for your vacations and forget your daily stressing life. For some people, this is a very difficult exercise. Some workaholics need special guidance to decelerate and enjoy their own holidays.

I've learned that from my own experience, I'm a pilot and I travel all over the world. I'm used to quality hotels and nice places. Me and my wife, we have been to very beautiful resorts but, those where we felt more comfortable, were located on the country side, away from the great cities. I used to be a workaholic too. When not flying, I was in the office working until late. My life was getting more and more stressing and I rarely had time for me and my family. One day, me and my wife Alex, decided to change our lives and left the city. We bought Água d'Alte and sold everything we had to fulfil our dream. We wanted to take an old and abandoned farm to build a rural family resort having in mind the experience we had gathered during our trips to other countries and resorts and also having in mind, the needs of our future guests in terms of comfort, healthy and worm ambiance, freshly made food and beverage and resting conditions. We've been able to reconstruct part of the old house and build up a very special place where our guests will feel at home and very comfortably will decide which level of privacy they want: We have three kinds of facilities: two country side houses (T1 and T2) nearby the main house; five suites annexed to the main house and two inside double-rooms. All of the facilities have private bathrooms, Air Conditioning, TV Satellite, Mini-Bar, telephone, and extra-beds. We offer our guests a swimming pool, sauna, bicycles, barbecue, kitchenettes on the apartments, kennel, farm animal watch and guest participation on the farming works. We have protocols with other institutions to provide horse riding, ballooning, glider and aerobatic flights, Off-road driving, bird watching and visits to Pottery studios, Weaver's Loom and Wine-Cellars. We will help our guests with road-books for their visits to the region that has a cultural and historic patrimony that is worthy of visiting.
